IFTTT adds iOS push notification support, Faster Than Light comes to iPad

Popular web-based automation and productivity service “If This, Then That” now allows users to add iOS push notifications into their recipes, while computer spaceflight simulator Faster Than Light has come to Apple’s iPad.

IFTTT’s new iOS notifications channel is a long-awaited feature, offering users the ability to have recipe updates pushed nearly instantly to their iOS device. Users can create a recipe that monitors the weather and sends a push notification when rain is expected in their area, for instance.

The app has also been updated with a new iPad-specific layout and is available as a universal binary. In addition, iOS photo triggers can now be configured to run based on the user’s location, and the company has added a new set of curated recipe collections organized around specific activities.

IFTTT version 2.0.0 is available now as a free, 19.5-megabyte download from the App Store.
